CNN ANCHOR RICHARD QUEST TO PRESENT BUSINESS TRAVEL SHOW KEYNOTE

17/01/2012 00:00:00
CNN anchor and television presenter Richard Quest will present a keynote address at the Business Travel Show at 1230 on Tuesday 7 February 2012 at Earls Court in London.

His address – ‘Richard Quest – Tales of a Road Warrior’ – will see him talk about business travel from the traveller’s perspective, including personal anecdotes collected during his two decades of globetrotting. In his busiest year, Quest travelled more than 350,000 miles and was on the road for 300 days. Quest will also forecast economic projections for 2012 and reveal how they will likely impact the travel industry.

Quest claims to have always had an unhealthy interest in aviation specifically and business travel generally, which he has reported on for the last 20 years, including seven years presenting CNN Business Traveller.

“The sheer joy of an industry that spans the globe with so many tentacles in the economy is just breathtaking. I cover it because I love it,” he commented.

“My keynote is called Tales of a True Road Warrior because a true road warrior loves being on the road – the good, the bad and the downright difficult. Sometimes it is war getting from A to Z which is only made better by the moments of peace flying across the globe, meeting fellow travellers, sharing war stories and experiences and then….doing it all over again, of course.”

David Chapple, event director of the Business Travel Show, added: “We’re delighted that Richard Quest will be presenting a keynote at the Business Travel Show – he’s a fantastic presenter with chapters and chapters of fascinating stories about his travels around the world. As an expert in both business and travel, he will be able to provide intelligence to buyers that will help keep them up to date with industry trends and improve their competitive edge.”

About Richard Quest

Richard Quest anchors the five-times-weekly business programme Quest Means Business for CNN International, and since 2011, hosts ‘CNN Marketplace Europe’, a weekly programme which puts the spotlight on one of the world’s most influential and interconnected continents.

In addition Quest is the established airline and aviation correspondent at CNN and presents the monthly ‘CNN Business Traveller’ show. As a business travel specialist, Quest has become a voice of authority on subjects like the launch of the Airbus A380.

Quest became a trainee journalist at the BBC in 1985, joining their financial section in 1987, and moving to New York City in 1989 to become their North America business correspondent. He later worked for the BBC from the USA as part of their then fledgling BBC News 24 channel. He was their business correspondent reporting on, and discussing, the world stock market in a regular segment entitled World Business Report, a programme that he presented alongside Paddy O'Connell. He was also an occasional presenter on the BBC's early morning Business Breakfast programme.

Quest joined CNN in 2001 for the launch of Business International. Since this time Quest has covered a variety of different events for CNN, amongst others an analysis of the U.S. elections as American Quest and the start of the circulation of euro banknotes and coins on 1 January 2002 and the last official commercial flight of Concorde. He has also headed up CNN’s coverage of several events involving the British Royal Family. His coverage of breaking news, which has spanned two decades, has seen him report on a range of stories from the death of Yasser Arafat and the Lockerbie Pan Am 103 crash to the death of Michael Jackson.
